Here is a rare set of First Nations, men`s, OOAK hand beaded cuffs with leather fringe. Pieces like this are usually passed down from one dancer to the next and are difficult to come by. They are beaded in a traditional style with seed beads on a heavy cotton pad. They are the finishing touch to a traditional dance costume. They are in wonderful condition~ Please zoom in and check out all pictures. There are some beads missing. I would recommend tightening up the rows so that the gap is gone~ verses trying to match the color of the beads to new ones. The leather fringe is uneven~ one strand is shorter than the rest. The cuffs are sold as is~ so it will be up to the new owner to decide how they would like to restore them~ if at all. They can be worn the way they are by tying them up with the existing leather straps. See picture 5 where my husband is modeling a cuff. This piece of beadwork on fabric measures 9 1/4" wide by 6 1/2" tall at the outer edges. The cuffs came from a private sale in North Battleford, Saskatchewan, Canada. Both pieces of beadwork have been fashioned by hand and must have taken many hours of crafting. These beautiful pieces of a traditional First Nations dance costume are typical of the amazing local wearable tribal art. Are you a seamstress or up-cycler? The two pieces could easily be joined to make an open bag~ Just add a zipper between the two or some type of closure for the top and a strap. However you decide to use them~ they are a rare and very cool find! Enjoy! *285 grams Thanks for checking out the rest of my shop for other interesting Etsy treasures!
