Devon Properties Ltd. ("Devon") is the leading real estate services and property management company in Victoria, BC, with a diversified portfolio of multi-family, commercial, and single-family clients. Devon is currently seeking a full-time junior bookkeeper for the Victoria, BC office. Duties include, but are not limited to, the below responsibilities.
Responsibilities
o Report directly to the Head of Accounting
o Provides support to the accounting staff in processing the daily, weekly, monthly and annual client accounting operations (e.g., accounts payable and accounts receivable)
o Maintain financial documentations and files
o Verify the accuracy of invoices
o Track and monitor purchase orders
o Interact with tenants and vendors
o Serve as back up support for other administrative staff when required
Qualifications
Technical Skills
o Highly proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
o Ability to gain a strong command of new systems (e.g., real estate services software)
Non-Technical Skills
o Prior experience in real estate / legal / accounting industry preferred
o Basic knowledge of accounting
o College degree preferred
o Expert in multi-tasking, organizing, and prioritizing
o Detail oriented with ability to work independently and prioritize workload
o Demonstrates a high level of integrity and professionalism
o Energetic, responsive team player with the interest to take initiative and work in a fast-paced environment
o Ability to work 8:00am-4:00 pm and be flexible for overtime as needed
